My First Car! It was a "tin can", low horsepower, but it was mine. I was very happy to get my own ride!

My first car. I was tired of asking to borrow Mom's ugly orange Ford Pinto to go out on dates! Basic transportation to HS, then College and my jobs at Chuck-E-Cheese then Pay-N-Save... and yeah, the occasional date! comment icon

Blew the Engine- Got a new one- A FAST new one
So, I was a dumb kid in high school, with his first car, and I somehow let my engine overheat... So bad, I needed a new engine. A buddy suggested I get an engine upgrade. The old engine was a little pokey, about 85 horsepower. So, I decided to get a 2T-G double overhead cam engine installed (114 HP vs. the original 85 HP) I did NOT install it myself, it took the professionals long enough (well over a month as I recall). Anyhow, it was kind of funny... after I got the new engine, I could beat a lot of other cars racing off a red light (the weight of the car was about 1,900lbs...) comment icon
